favorite things friday: sweaters & booties, suede, & back at mama's

I'm baaaa-aaaaackkk!!!! And if you didn't believe my post Tuesday explaining my blog-lean week ... I have sat down at the computer 4 times to start this post & have had the people I share this house with call me away for things that apparently only a mother is qualified to do.

Anyway ...

Happy Friday, y'all!!!!

Here are a few of my very favorite things from this week ...

* Target finds {& great deals!}...

I ordered this sweater for ... get this ... a whole whopping $9.18!!!!
It comes in 6 colors, but a few
have select sizes because it's on clearance!

super cute black booties that Sheaffer from Pinterest Told Me To
mentioned earlier this week.
I snagged a pair for $28 ... a complete STEAL!

While I can't stand colder weather ... I love wearing jeans, comfy sweaters, & boots! So, I'm looking forward to Fall for that reason only!
* new to me ...
I've had this polish for 2 or 3 years, but have always used it for pedicures. This week I used it on my fingernails {with Sally Hansen's miracle gel top coat I told you about HERE} for the first time & I LOVED it!!!

{Gray Suede by Revlon}
A very subtle, barely there color! Perfect!
* & last ...
I heard this song on the radio this week & as soon as I got home I went to You Tube to find the video ...
Tim & Faith singing "Meanwhile Back at Mama's".... lord have mercy on my soul! This song takes me home ... even though Daddy never smoked & never drinks anything stronger than my mama's sweet tea. & the video is just precious! Love! Love! Love!
Hope your weekend is full of fun! We are going to enjoy our last couple of days of freedom before school starts on Monday  morning! Packing it in & hanging on for dear life, y'all!!!!
linking up with Andrea at Momfessionals!
hop over & see what some of
my favorite bloggers
have been up to this week!

polymers & sciencey things ...

I hardly ever paint my fingernails. It just seems like a lot of work for something that usually ends up looking like my 2-year-old nephew did & inevitably will be chipped in a day & a half. However, the Nester posted a product on Instagram this week that I thought might be the answer to my short-lived home manicure problems.

Sally Hansen's Miracle Gel

It is supposed to  give you a gel type manicure finish that allegedly actually lasts!!! Sally Hansen claims it can last up to 14 days. Supposedly polymers & some sciencey things are involved ... I can tell you this, if my manicure lasts for 14 days, there is probably some type of witchcraft involved.

I searched high & low & couldn't find a store in my area carrying this particular product yet. However, I did find a similar product from Revlon ....

Colorstay Gel Envy (Diamond Top Coat)

My nail color is Sally Hansen's Grease Lightning & I am sure Mama is mortified that I've painted my nails the color of charcoal, but I love it!!!!

I'm on day 3 (which is twice as long as my do-it-yourself manicures last) & so far, so good. I've moved furniture, spent the day at the pool, washed dishes, & all that jazz ... & the polish is holding up pretty well.

So, let me know if you try it. If you happen to come across the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel (that doesn't need an LED light to cure) let me know ... I'm still on the hunt!

it's like a fashion magic trick!!!!!

I proclaimed a long time ago on this blog that I would not be sharing fashion tips with you. People, I am about as fashion forward as Aunt Bea. I'm a total jeans, t-shirt, & flip flops girl. I go for comfort ... it wins out every time!

However, I came across something on Facebook yesterday that BLEW. MY. MIND! Seriously, what you are about to see is like a fashion magic trick & I knew I had to share it with you!!!!

{if you can't see this video ... CLICK HERE to watch}
Can you even believe it!?!

So .... I HAD to try it!

I was really skeptical about how it would really look  .... it's really super cute  in person & a lot easier than it looks on the video.  Let me assure you, if I can do this .... anyone over the age of 4 can, too!

So ... try it!!!! Let me know what you think!!!! What a fun way to change up your summer outfits!!!
