this past weekend.
was like the perfect trifecta
of small southern town greatness ...
the high school homecoming football game,
opening day of deer hunting season,
& homecoming sunday at mama & daddy's church.
however, i only participated in one of these blessed events...
mine & the mister's high school alma mater
had homecoming friday night,
but tropical storm "i wish it would rain 37 hours straight"
turned into tropical storm "i wish it would rain 72 hours straight" ..
& unless you have seen the inside of my womb &
i can legally claim you on my federal tax return,
i will not sit in the rain to watch you participate in sports.
i have standards, you know.
then, saturday was opening day of deer hunting season,
which around here is like Christmas morning.
while none of my household took part in all of the deer shooting,
we did watch part of a duck dynasty marathon which
is kind-of like the same thing to me.
& to top off the weekend,
it was homecoming sunday at mama & daddy's church.
if you have never been to a homecoming sunday
at a small southern church ... i highly recommend it!
yes, the worship was good
yes, the message was good ...
now, i don't mean anything by it, but
the food was AWESOME!
{honesty is the best policy}
y'all ... there is food ... not just any food.
food that has been slaved over for hours.
food that has been lovingly prepared by women
who know what the heck they are doing!
