vacationing with the in-laws ...

last week

my in-laws took our family of four &

my brother-in-law's family

to williamsburg, va for vacation.

we had such a fun time!

we visited

busch gardens, water country usa,

& spent a little time

in colonial williamsburg.

now... i told you a few weeks

ago that i am not the adventurous type

& i truly lived up to that

while at busch gardens.

my mister & big brother busted

the roller coasters wide open

with my brother-in-law & my niece.

i, on the other hand, was happy to sit at the ride exits

with all of the other

scaredy cats highly intelligent individuals.

if you read the warning signs at the roller coaster entrances

you can clearly see that it says,

if you have "any other medical condition" you

should not ride ....

well, after about 3 1/2 minutes in the park

i quickly self-diagnosed myself

with the aforementioned "other medical condition"

& decided it would be best if i erred on the side of caution.

i did, however, whoop it up

in the tea cups & bumper cars

{which, by the way, i am pretty sure

a 3-year-old wearing a dragon hat gave me

a mild case of whiplash during my bumper car experience}.

one thing my mister seemed to enjoy

while at busch gardens was finding park workers

with nametags that denoted they were from Poland.

see, my sweet mister knows 2 sentences in polish &

he made it a point to hunt down those polish workers

just to speak his 2 polish sentences to them ...

bless him!

usually when you vacation in august

the temperatures are stifling, but while

we were on vacay there must have been some

sort of artic blast from parts up north.

as evidenced by ....

me wearing a sweater &

warming my hands by this fire

& also...
me fashioning a colonial snuggie

from my dinner napkin

while dining in colonial Williamsburg.

at water country usa

i fell in love with the lazy river

& just prayed that there was enough chlorine

floating in that river with me to counteract

the 175 strangers i happened to be floating with.

i am aware that a lot of people

would rather endure water boarding

than vacation with the in-laws ....

but , i am thankful i am not in that category!

we all had a blast together!

& i decided if my brother-in-law's law career &

my father-in-law & mister's music ministry careers get tiresome

we could just all become a pack of traveling clowns!
